Alex Wayland, a graduate of Auburn University with a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture, recently joined Renta Urban Land Design (RULD) as Designer II. A lifelong fascination with design and the outdoors led Alex to the world of landscape architecture. Growing up in post-industrial Birmingham, Alabama, he was surrounded by a landscape that sparked his love for ruderal ecologies, as well as his values concerning the built environment and its capacity to shape experiences and livelihoods. Alex was a key member of a team of Auburn graduates who recently won four awards and a gold medal at this year’s PHS Philadelphia Flower Show. Alex is experienced in photography, 3D modeling, sketching, and woodworking and is excited to bring his skillset to RULD.
